Who we are & what we do

The Parish Council has a membership of 6 elected (or co-opted) parishioners who serve for a four-year term. The Parish is situated in the Tilton Ward. Main Council meetings are held in the Village Hall quarterly in February, May, August and November. The meeting dates are shown on the Council Meetings section of the website. The attendance of Parishioners and members of the public are welcomed.

Tilton on the Hill and Halstead Parish Council owns a Playing Field off Marefield Lane, which was previously used as a school Playing Field. The field has QEII Jubilee status. It is run by a non Councillor Chair and all Parish Councillors who have some exciting plans for its development.

Should a vacancy occur between elections Parish Councillors are elected or co-opted.

The Parish Council has formed a Neighbourhood Plan Committee to undertake the delivery of our Neighbourhood Plan.

We have also formed Tilton Playing Field Committee to run the QE11 Fields in Trust Tilton Playing Field.
